1961 Pontiac Parisienne
348 4 speed
This car went to Kitchener, Ontario.
On the left is this 61' Parisienne, just how I found it in a junk yard in 1995. It was the car on the right in 11 days !
Considered by many to be the best year for General Motors, the 1961 Pontiac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Buick sport coupes ( 2 dr hard tops ) all used the sleek, stylish "bubble top" roof line. The 61 Parisienne seems to add a little "bad" to it's styling ! Also seems to be the only year where the HT's have attained a desireability and value equalling the corresponding convertible body style.
Here is the 377 inch 348 assembled and ready for installation.
Not a show car, just a fun "driver" ! Unexpectedly fast, the car uses a wide ratio 4 speed with original 3.36 posi rear. Estimated approx 340HP.
